Grandma's visit Day 1 &2.

For fall break my mom, Elizabeth, Emmaline, Dikyshanta, and Ayusha drove up to visit.
We definitely made the most of the few days they were here.
We drove up to the Portland food trucks and had lunch.
Most of us got food from a melted cheese food truck.
For dessert, of course we got some Voodoo donuts.
And for a second dessert we went to my favorite icecream place. Salt & Straw.
I had to convince my mom that even though some of the ingredients in the icecream are weird, they go together perfectly making the best icecream on the planet.
I am proud to say I convinced her.
I stuck with my favorite cinnamon snickerdoodle and strawberry honey balsamic vinegar with black pepper.
They also had some fun Halloween flavors. One of them was called Dracula's blood and was actually made with fresh pigs blood. I braved it out and tried a sample, but I'm sorry it tasted exactly like blood. Disgusting!

We tried out a pumpkin patch that Michael and I had wanted to go to.
It's called Bauman's farm and we had heard it was literally the "disneyland" of pumpkin patches.
We got a late start and had plans that evening so we weren't able to spend as much time there as we would have liked.
There were rides, we especially like the the bug train that a tracker pulled around a maze, there was tons of food, slides, cider tasting, haunted mazes, corn mazes, games, and of course a giant pumpkin patch.
While in the pumpkin patch we had mostly filled our wheel barrow up with pumpkins but left it sitting there for a second so we could take a few pictures when all of a sudden some random couple came and dumped out our wheel barrow of pumpkins out and STOLE our wheel barrow.
Haha! Who does that! But thanks to my aggressive momma we got it back!
All in all, what we had heard was true. It was the Disneyland of pumpkin patches.

I left a little early to finish up the dinner preparations since we were having the missionaries over for dinner. And one of those missionaries happened to be Elder Jaden Adams who is one of Emerson's best friends! (He was called to the Salem mission and I have been able to have him for dinner a couple times when he is serving in the area.) His companion was Elder Sparks, who was also awesome!  But since Elder Adams is so close to my family I thought it would be fun to surprise him by having my mom here when he showed up for dinner! And he was!
We had Toscana soup with garlic rolls and spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for dessert.
Those missionaries can eat!
We loved having them over and feeling their special Spirit. It also made us feel so much closer to Emerson.
Elder Adams got transferred a couple days after he was over but I'm hoping he'll be back!

(Elder Adams is the one talking with his scriptures open.)
