Happy 26th Michael!

This year for Michael's birthday we went to La Hacienda (a yummy Mexican restaurant) for dinner.
I felt so bad because right as we pulled in to the restaurant I barfed.
Michael took Olivia in and got our table.
I of course walked in a few minutes later looking like death and immediately sprawled myself out on the disgusting bench.
I was SO sick.
Michael helped feed and control our yelping Olivia who was trying to fling everything in sight.
I tried to sip my dr. pepper and eat my dinner without barfing all over the place.
I felt so bad.
We made it home and Michael opened his gifts.
Thanks to my family, and the Mickelson's for totally spoiling him:)
He then lit his one little candle on his chocolate cupcake that he picked up himself at our favorite bakery on his way home from school earlier that day.
(I felt so bad for not making him a cake, but I will make it up to him next year!)
We probably had one of our top 5 awkwardest moments when he asked me to sing to him and I refused because I knew I would sound awful.
So he just started right in singing happy birthday to himself and I joined in softly part way through the song because I felt so bad.
Oh my gosh all we could do after was laugh hysterically.
I wish we would have had a video camera or something because it was probably the worst happy birthday singing of all time.
Hopefully next year Olivia will join in:)

His favorite chapstick.

Yay for giftcards!

And Itunes cards!

You can tell Michael is excited about this gift:)
(Olivia is like "what the crap dad, you're weird!)

His little birthday cupcake!

I really really love this boy.

I'm sure this is one of those birthdays neither of us will forget!
I'm so grateful for my sweet boy and the amazing example he is to me.
I sure am blessed to have him as my husband.

10 weeks, horribly sick, and no energy to blog.

I might as well kiss this cute blog of mine goodbye for a while.
I thought that I'd be able to keep it updated but each day, each week I just seem to get sicker.
If that is even possible.
It is all I can do to take care of our little Olivia.
The house is a disaster.
It desperately needs to be cleaned and you should see the larger than life pile of who knows what on our desk.

Just a quick update on the pregnancy.
I am now just 10 weeks along.
1/4 of the way done!
Everything is going fine besides the fact that I've already lost track of how many times I've barfed and the fact that sleeping through the night is nearly impossible.
I wake up at least 5 times.
I just don't remember being this sick with Olivia.
Every morning I wake up wondering how I'm going to make it through the day.
But somehow I do.

But, despite my constant nausea and barfing, lack of energy, homesickness and much more I still every moment feel so blessed to be a mother.
A mother to Olivia and a mother to this sweet baby.
I wouldn't trade what I'm going through for anything.

I'm also so grateful for Michael.
I could not do this without his love and support.
He has been so busy with school and finals being just 3 short weeks away, yet he still spends those few spare moments helping with Olivia, picking up the house, doing the dishes, comforting me, ect.
I've felt so guilty about not having a nice dinner ready for him when he gets home, a clean house, perfectly folded laundry and all those things I did before the morning sickness.
But not once has he made me feel guilty or bad about my constant couch laying, constant talking about how sick I feel and how badly I want to move back to Utah.
He instead continues to reassure me that this is only for a short time. That it will pass.
That everything will be okay.
Oh how I love him and am truly honored and blessed to have him as my husband.

Last but not least I would like to end with some exciting news.
Olivia and I will be flying to Utah Nov. 28th and will be there until the 27th of December.
Michael has finals and so he will be joining us on the 8th of December.
Michael will be able to focus on studying for finals and not have to worry about me and Olivia while I will get some relief and sweet Olivia will get everybody's undivided attention.
As hard as it will be for me to be away from Michael, I really am excited.
And hey he'll be joining us just 10 days later.
I'm so grateful for my parents and their willingness to take in a very sick girl and a very hyper toddler.
I'm hoping to feel better as I enter my second trimester just days upon arriving in Utah!
So the countdown begins.
16 more days!!

I can't promise any updates for a while. But we'll see.
Maybe I'll post a picture of our little one next week when we get our first ultrasound!

Halloween.

Halloween did not go exactly as planned this year due to my severe morning sickness.
We had plans of going to the ward trunk or treat, making and frosting halloween sugar cookies, having a yummy spooky dinner and then taking Olivia to the mall to trick or treat.
Of course really none of these "fun" ideas happened, but we did try to make the best of things with our cute little giraffe.
We did somehow manage to attend the ward trunk or treat a few nights before Halloween and then have dinner with some friends in the ward.
Olivia wasn't very in to the whole trick or treat thing.
She just wanted to eat the candy without having to go get it:)
On Halloween we were lucky enough to have Michael's dad visiting so we pretty much just took it easy that night.
Olivia got all dressed up but we didn't go trick or treating since they don't really do it in our neighborhood.
She obviously didn't mind since we just gave her all of the leftover candy from the trunk or treat!
We had a yummy dinner of Toscana soup and that pretty much wrapped up our Halloween.

Yummy "ah pop"

Trunk or treating.

Us.
(Definitely not looking my best here!)

Our little giraffe on Halloween!

We're excited for next year.
I'm sure it will be crazy with 2 little ones!
