Sandcastles are a must!
Who doesn't love a good oreo!
Now my littlest was in ocean heaven.
She had zero fear of the waves and would run right for them thinking that she was big enough to withstand anything.
Of course she took a couple curls but that didn't stop her and she would get up just dying laughing and quickly run back in for more.
I think someone is a lot like their mommy!
Getting ready to jump over those waves!
One night we went walking on the boardwalk in search of a dessert. We were hoping for our favorite Tutti Frutti and were so sad when we heard that it was no longer there. However, we quickly resorted to our favorite donuts. And were in dessert heaven.
When we got home this is what I saw.
There's nothing like the fresh salty air and the sound of the crashing waves to help put you to sleep!
We took a little morning walk on the pier and were lucky enough to see a seal!
See that little black dot in the center of the picture?!
There the little guy is!
We ate lots of yummy icecream cones!
After playing frisbee in the sand we decided that we should move it out to the water. My dad would stand on the beach and throw it out in the waves and we would all run in jumping over waves, swimming, pushing, and shoving each other to be the first one to get the frisbee!
We had a lot of good luck as far as shell hunting went.
Sand dollars, shells, and mini shells galore!
Olivia was even lucky enough to find her very own sand dollar!
One night we went to Rita's and pigged out on these yummy custard snowcones!
And we are ready to hit the waves.
Boogie boarding is seriously one of my very favorite things to do.
Boogie boarding is seriously one of my very favorite things to do.
We had some good times out in the waves. And even a few scary times.
One of the times we all got out there a little too deep and Sophia and I were trying to get back to shore when a larger than life wave came and curled both of us. I felt like I was under for at least a minute because apparently another big wave hit me before I even had a chance to come up. I think it is my scariest experience boogie boarding to date. I seriously thought I was going to drown. But don't worry after a few hours of catching my breath I was back out there!
This time the current got a little strong and was sucking us out. We all started to panic as we realized we couldn't touch and no matter how hard we paddled forward we were still getting pulled backwards. We noticed a lifeguard boat coming to the rescue. I was freaking out because I was mostly worried about the fact that the further out I got the more likely I would be to encounter a shark.
So when I once again saw a larger than life wave I knew I had no choice but to take it. So I turned around and starting kicking my legs as fast as I could and literally pointed my board straight up to the sky in hopes that I would not be curled. I felt myself being lifted higher and higher and then finally come down so fast and hard that it was all I could do to keep my board pointing up. I caught it! As I came in to shore I saw the lifeguard swimming out to help the rest of my family and he looked at me laughing and said. "I can not believe you caught that wave. It was huge!"
A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! There was no way in heck I was going out to sea with the sharks!
The waves seemed a lot bigger this year and there were a lot of currents. But we didn't let that stop us and could not have had any more fun on those waves!
