Cancun part 3:

So, I forgot an important little story about my boy that happened the very first night that I want to remember. Well everyone knows that the water in Mexico is a bit dirty so you shouldn't drink it. Well apparently Michael forgot this because the second we got to our hotel room he took a big gulp of it right out of the sink. That next day he struggled a bit with tummy problems but luckily it wasn't too bad. Crazy boy.
They were really good about giving us bottled water and then all the water at the restaurants were purified so we pretty much just had to be careful not to drink the water in the shower or the sink.

Day 5: May 25, 2011

There is this natural spring thing in the middle of the resort that you can swim in. We had to shower before we got in so that our body oils wouldn't harm the natural flora and fauna. I wasn't exactly thrilled swimming in this, personally I think it is a little creepy. But I did. The water was freezing, well freezing for Mexico water so I only was in there for a couple minutes. Plus the creepiness of the dark water got to me. Michael really seemed to enjoy it and put on the goggles and was pretty interested in exploring this spring.

Together at the snack bar.
(So I just wanted to add in a little side note that the stroller you see in is not hers. We rented it from the resort. Pretty sure I would never purchase such an ugly thing haha.)

Love Olivia's face in this picture.

Our little cutie. I just love her legs.

So that night the resort was putting on this special Mexican fiesta. They had booths up and down the roads that had different kinds of authentic Mexican food and then fun souvenirs. They also had a lot of fun music playing which Olivia loved of course. We started exploring all the booths and I was actually planning on just going to the Italian buffet for dinner but when I got a view of the donut booth and crepe booth I decided I would go with those for dinner! My favorite moment of the night was seeing Michael come around the corner with a plate of authentic Mexican food and probably the cutest smile you'll ever see. He was in heaven that's for sure. I loved the fajitas and the crepes and the donuts were so dang good. I ate 3. We had fun walking around to all the booths and I even got a cute anklet and then Olivia and I got cute matching bracelets with our names on it. Michael got this alligator thing. It's funny the difference between what a girl wants to buy and what a boy wants to buy!

Enjoying our dinner!

So the cute girl that cleaned our room every day always left these funny things made out of towels. She made turtles, fish, people and I don't really remember what else. Anyway the towels sometimes had these little sticker eyes on them so of course Michael wanted to try it out on Olivia.

After shopping around we went to the main stage room where there was some serious Mexican dancing. Olivia was in love. Really I don't know how to describe her excitement. She loved the lights, the music, and of course all the pretty colors on everyone's costumes. She was so hyper and smiley and pretty much jumping out of our arms. She's definitely a lot like her daddy.

Day 6: May 26, 2011

Another one of the creatures that ran around wild were these long nose things. I can't remember what they are called. But when we were walking back from breakfast we found about 10 of them fighting viciously over cat food. Quite funny.

Today my family went to Tulum to see some Mayan ruins. Michael and I decided to stay back because we thought it would be a little easier on Olivia. (Turns out good we didn't go because they ended up getting stranded because the car they rented ran out of gas haha. But luckily they made it back safely just a lot later than planned. ) The 3 of us had a relaxing day at the pool. Michael and Olivia had a lot of fun in the pool together. Olivia really started to get the hang of splashing and did it pretty much constantly.

The tongue.

Seriously can't handle this crazy face.

Such a cutie.
The workers there were so friendly and loved Olivia. They would always ask to hold her and tell us how preciousa (precious) and bonita (pretty) our pequenita (little one) was. I can't even count how many compliments we got about her. I obviously completely agree. Look at her, she really is a doll.

The laughs. Love this baby girl so so much.

Sophia and Olivia matching.

For dinner we went to the seafood restaurant. My plate is kind of cut out of the picture but my appetizer was a stuffed crab. Seriously there was this huge crab on my plate. Kind of freaky.

This restaurant was pretty much right on the beach which of course made our view absolutely gorgeous. My personal favorite part of the dinner was the dessert. Typical. But it seriously was probably the best banana split I've ever had.

That night Michael and I decided to have a little time to ourselves and go on a romantic walk along the beautiful beach. So we got Olivia to sleep and cute Winston was the first to volunteer to sit with her. Before we left for the walk we were warned by my dad that there were a lot of little crabs running around down there but that it was still fun. Michael was thrilled because he of course was planning on catching some. I was a bit nervous but figured I'd be fine. Well we started our walk and saw not a single crab for the first few minutes. I of course was holding the flashlight when all of a sudden Michael spotted one and it freaking took off like the fastest little thing I've ever seen. I couldn't believe how fast it ran. This kind of freaked me out a bit. Well Michael decided it was his turn to take the flashlight so I stood there while he walked a little further up in the sand. As I was standing there I felt something touch my leg and that was the end of me. I went ballistic. I screamed and jumped up and down and kicked my legs. I seriously thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest. I immediately told Michael that this walk was over and that I could not handle it. (Turns out I don't think it was a crab that touched my leg but my anklet string brushing up against my leg and the corner of the towel I was holding haha. I am pretty sure I am a professional at freaking myself out. ) Well Michael quickly caught one and the picture above shows just how freaky looking those things are. Especially when they stand up and crawl on their little pincher legs. I am sad that we didn't get our romantic walk on the beach but getting attacked by those crabs would not have been worth it.

Day 7: May 27, 2011

At the pool they had a lot of fun activities going on throughout the day. One of the ones they did today was was a relay race. You had to jump in the pool and swim all the way across and then when you got to the other side drink a full glass of some sort of drink and then swim back. I was really shocked when I walked over there and immediately saw my boy jump in and start swimming. No offense to my love but swimming isn't really his forte haha. He was a bit slow and when he got to about the middle of the pool he started swimming in the wrong direction. It was hilarious. I think their teamed ended up losing but watching my boy participate seriously made my day.

He also participated in the water aerobics which was hilarious to watch as well!

We finished off our last day at the beach.
Olivia was so funny in her sunglasses. The sun was so bright that she would squint a lot and keep her eyes closed so when we put these on we thought she would be able to see a bit better. But when we took a peep underneath the sunglasses her little eyes were still squinting haha. Luckily a few minutes later she did figure out the benefit to having them on.

Tanning.

Her cheezy smile.

Playing in the sand.

So my dad would build up little sand castles on her lap and Olivia would sit and pat them down. She loved it. I thought it was funny that she didn't try to eat the sand since she pretty much tries to eat everything else.

I love this picture.

Emerson and Olivia at dinner.

We went to dinner at the Brazilian restaurant the last night. It was apparently supposed to be similar to Tucanos but it wasn't. The salad bar didn't even come close and the meats were a bit interesting. The chocolate mousse dessert was of course good. I did try sushi for my first time. I have been too scared to try it but decided that I better give it a chance. Oh my gosh I loved it. I told Michael that we were going to be going on a sushi date soon!

My boy and I.

That night the resort was putting on a Disney show. They actually asked Sophia to be Cinderella in it so of course the family was very excited to go. My family went early and saved front row seats. It was such a fun show with lots of songs and dancing from all the favorite Disney movies. Olivia loved it. Especially when the balloons and bubbles fell from the ceiling. Oh and lets not forget the fireworks! I was seriously so impressed. It was almost better than an actual Disneyland show. Michael could hardly sit still. He wanted so badly to break out in full fledge crazy dancing on the stage. Sophia did such an amazing job. It was such a fun way to end such a perfect week.

Day 8: May 28, 2011

On the plane ride home. I think Olivia was excited to be going home.

I am sure there is still so much that I missed.
But really there aren't words to describe how fun it was to be there with my whole family.
It was a perfect vacation with so many memories created that will be cherished forever.
Thank you to my wonderful parents for planning such a fun trip.
We are already planning to go back again in 4 years once we are all reunited again after both boy's missions.
I am really hoping this happens.

La Vida es Fresca!!!!
