Cancun part 1:

After seriously a wonderful week we are back to the freezing cold rain and snow.
I'm really missing the sun.
Anyway, I have made 3 separate posts that will go into detail and show pictures of this lovely trip.
There is so so much that I want to remember so sorry if it gets boring.

Day 1: May 21, 2011

(At the airport)
We got all packed up the night before since we would be leaving at around 7:00 that next morning. It is a little crazy packing for an 8 month old. I probably packed half her stuff, but better safe than sorry! We parked our cars at a parking lot near the airport and took a shuttle there. We were running a bit behind (very common for my family) but thanks to my medallion flyer dad were able to skip to the front of every line! I get deathly sick on planes so I of course took my Dramamine (the drowsy kind on accident) and decided to give our little Olivia a few drops of benedryl to try and knock her out for the flight. Well about 30 minutes after being on the plane Olivia zonked out for what I thought would be the rest of the flight. Well 1 hour later this hyper child was pretty much bouncing off the walls. Thank you benedryl. Apparently this does not work on my child. The flight was about 4 hours. Not too bad but definitely harder with a baby. After arriving we were able to get to our resort shuttle without much trouble, thanks to my Spanish speaking boy.

The resort was called Sandos, in a city called Playa de Carmen about 45 minutes outside of Cancun. We arrived there around dinner time so eating was pretty much the first thing we did. They had an international/mexican buffet, Italian buffet, and a few other nice restaurants that you had to make reservations in advance for. We thought we would try out the international buffet first. There was so much food to choose from so it was kind of fun knowing that we could eat whatever and however much we wanted.
(I can't believe I am in long sleeves but it was cold on the plane. I am probably drenched in sweat in this picture. The heat was a bit shocking at first.)

Olivia starting right in getting little tastes of all the food.

I can't believe I have a picture of my baby in a public high chair. Seriously gross. But the top part of it was sterilized and wrapped in plastic wrap when we got it so I figured after some serious disinfecting from me she could handle sitting in it. Poor little girl is struggling with some serious sweating as well.

Day 2: May 22, 2011

My two cuties sleeping in after that long day.

So these creatures seriously just roam free around the resort. I guess it's kind of cool but if one of those things came at me I am pretty sure I would burst out bawling.

Relaxing on the beach. Enjoying the sunshine a little too much!
(Bad sunburn in the making...more about that later.)

They have these little mini bars all over the place that have lots of drinks to choose from. Most of them alcoholic but luckily they had these irresistibly amazing smoothies. Our favorites were the pina colada and the Chichen Itza. We seriously had at least 5 throughout the day.

Olivia LOVED them. It was here that she discovered her tongue. She would lick her lips like crazy until you gave her more and then when you did put some in her mouth she would lick it out like a kitty. Very cute.

Me, Emmaline, and Olivia.

Me and Sophia.

Our first of many family photos on this beautiful beach. (That blackish long thing in the black is some sort of thing that helps protect the beach during a hurricane. They are pretty much all along the beach. Well anyway, I totally slipped and fell over one of them haha.)

The wonderful snack bar. It was open 24 hours a day so we could go and get snacks whenever we wanted. We actually usually went here for lunch because they had these amazing nachos. My favorite though was their coconut/vanilla frozen yogurt icecream cone. I seriously had at least 3 a day.

Grandpa and baby. (I seriously love her bikini).

This little doll loved playing with all the beach toys.

Grandma and baby getting ready to go to dinner.

This special dessert was very yummy. It was chocolate mousse in a chocolate bowl with a chocolate square. A lot of chocolate but I could not resist eating half of one. Luckily little Olivia didn't seem to be affected. Looks like I may be reintroducing chocolate to my diet finally.

Looking a bit put out but that is before they saw the wonderful desserts:)

Sophia, me, and Olivia enjoying our Italian dinner. The pizza was amazing.

Love her very blue eyes. Thank you Michael!

Well, you've reached the end of the 1st post. Get ready cause there are 2 more with some very cute pictures I think.
