My parent's church is at nine so most of the preparation was done the night before.
We have a huge family. Both my mom's side and especially my dad's side, so I was in charge of making over 100 cupcakes!
Everybody who came brought something which helped a lot and then we just ordered some pre made sandwiches from a local bakery.
It is so fun having the entire family all together. Crazy, but so fun!
Emerson gave such a good talk on temple work and obviously tied that back to his mission experiences. My great grandfather wrote the hymn Holy Temples On Mount Zion. The grandchildren sang that song at my grandma's funeral so when I found out Emerson's topic was temples I knew we had to sing it. Thankfully, the music leader was more than willing to add it into the program as a rest hymn. It was so incredible singing that song again. I always feel the Spirit so strong, and I just know my grandma was near.
Here are a few pictures from the day. Thankfully it was nice and warm outside because there were a lot of people!
The cupcake flavors were a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and toffee sprinkled on top, a red velvet cupcake with a whipped cream cheese frosting and toffee bits on top, and my favorite one was a vanilla cupcake with a blackberry whipped cream cheese frosting.
Playing a game of rook!
It was so nice of Stephen to come! It was funny because at church he sat by me and the girls and a lot of members of the ward afterwards told me that they thought he was Michael!
Olivia absolutely loves Lily!
(She's my uncle Danny and Stephanie's little girl)
Me and my dear cousin Rachel and her little girl Emmeline.
I am so glad I was able to be in Utah for all the festivities regarding Emerson's homecoming.
I am so proud of him and so blessed that he's my brother.
