It's a.......... Baby Shower!!

My aunt Annabelle and best friend were sweet enough to throw Olivia and I a baby shower! It was seriously so much fun! Most of my friends were able to be there and then of course my mom's side of the family (minus my sweet aunt Hilary who lives in San Francisco). The decorations were stunning, the pastries were amazing, and the games were a blast! Leslie was in charge of the games and since they were so wonderful, I am going to have to share what they were.
1) When everyone came in they were given some yarn to use to guess how big I was around the middle! My friend Jessica won that one!
2) 4 volunteers (who didn't know what they were getting into haha) had to have a race to see who could eat all the baby food out of their jar first! Congratulations to Paige on that one!
3) Everyone was separated into groups of 3 and had to make up nursery rhymes about baby Olivia. I couldn't pick which one I liked best since they were all so cute so there was no winner in this game. So here are 2 of them...I think one of them accidentally got thrown away:(

4) The next game we played was a baby animal quiz. We were given a list of animals and had a few minutes to guess what the baby animal of that particular animal was called. For example, did you know that a baby platypus is called a puggle? I didn't but I thought it was cute! My aunt Annabelle won this one!
5) In this game we sat in a circle and every person had three seconds to come up with a baby name for each letter of the alphabet and if you couldn't do it you were out. So we started with my friend Juli who quickly called out Anna and then next was my aunt Tiffany who looked extremely confused haha. So she paused and you could tell she was frantically trying to think of a name that started with a b but couldn't so she randomly called out beet!! Haha and everyone busted out laughing. (This is kind of a story that is funnier if you had actually been there but I just want to always remember it.)

It was so fun to have all my friends there and my sweet aunts. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love and care about me. I couldn't ask for a better family or for better friends and I am so excited for our baby girl to meet all these special people closest to me!

Just a few exciting things!

1) Baby Olivia remains in my womb. I am now 33 weeks and the doctor says he would like us to make it until at least 34, so 1 more week! Although I do think it would be funny if I ended up carrying her full term after all this. Anyway, I am sure she is a sweet little one and I already love her to death. However, there are a few times when I find myself not so fond, like when she kicks my ribs so hard it feels like they might pop out, or when she decides that she is going to sleep snug as a bug all day and then start moving like crazy at 10:00 at night when I am SO ready to go to sleep. Of course my boy shows no sympathy at all for me, he will just laugh his cute little laugh and say, "it's not my fault Eve partook of the fruit." Anyway, her little room is practically done. I love just going in there and peeking around. It just makes me so excited! I'll post pictures soon.

2) I finally got a new camera! Yay!

3) My boy LOVES (understatement by the way) ninja turtles. He just bought 2 movies the other day and always asks if we can watch them. I gave in one time and did. Let's just say it was an interesting movie. But at the American Fork Movie Theatre they have this ninja turtles arcade game. He loves it. He always begs to just stop by so he can play a few games. He always comes out a little frustrated because apparently they always send out too many fighters and he dies. So he is looking forward to his brother Steven coming down here for school in the winter so that they can conquer the game together:) Oh how I love this boy!

4) As true Ohio State Buckeye fans (well mostly Michael, but I do like them too) we decided it was important for our little one to have a little outfit to wear during all the games. So we bought this. Isn't it cute?! Michael is excited to dress her up and watch all the games with her. She'll probably sleep most of the time so it will be interesting to see how she reacts to her dad's loud screams and shouts every 10 seconds.

5) Sadly, I didn't get a picture of Michael on his first day of school. But he looked so handsome! He started on Monday, and is taking 5 classes. 4 Spanish, The picture below is a bit of an exaggeration of all the books Michael has had to buy, but not really. I think most of his semester will be spent reading!

6) We are both SO excited for Michael's dad and brother and sister to come down this weekend. Michael's dad bought us all tickets for the BYU/Washington game. It will be an amazing weekend!

7 months!!

I can't believe I've been pregnant for 7 months! Yikes!
I really can't wait for this to be over with.
Anyway, we have been working on setting up Olivia's room and getting all the little baby supplies.

I married the most amazing boy.
I can't believe it's already been a year...
Looking back, I can honestly say it's been the best year of my life.
We have have created so many unforgettable memories and I can't wait to continue to create more.
Life is a fairytale and I am so glad it always will be...forever.


***I went to the doctor today and baby Olivia is doing fine! I am still dilated to a 2 which is good. (Well good because I haven't dilated more!) So I will just be continuing the medication and modified bed rest. Thank you for all of your prayers! We are looking forward to meeting our little girl, but we want her to be healthy and stay inside me for a little while longer:)

Another pregnancy complication....

Well before I share the events of the past few days, here are tummy pictures of me at around 30ish weeks (a little over 6 1/2 months)!!

So I am getting the impression that either baby Olivia is extremely excited to get here or I am extremely excited for her to get here...either way this excitement has probably come a bit to early...So for the past few weeks I have been having what I thought were the braxton hicks contractions which is totally normal at my stage. However I started having stronger more frequent ones. I didn't know if this was normal or not so I called my cousin who just had a baby. She told me to call in just to make sure because I shouldn't be having so many of them. Well last Monday, I reluctantly called in not wanting to be overly paranoid. I explained everything to the nurse and she didn't seem worried and told me just to tell my doctor that following Monday at my next appointment. So...Monday I go to my doctors appointment. Michael wasn't with me sadly. Anyway, I met with my doctor and explained to him what I had been feeling and he of course thought it would be good if he checked everything just to make sure. I was already measuring a little small which he said wasn't too big of a concern. But as he checked me he discovered that I was already dilated to 2 cm and was 70% effaced. Which obviously at nearly 30 weeks is not a good thing at all. This explains why I was measuring small...the baby was already starting to drop. He told me that he would like to keep that little baby in there for at least another 4 weeks. I was sent over to the hospital (St. Marks) to get a steroid shot that would help her lungs develop quicker and he also wanted to me to be monitored just so he could see what my contractions were doing. So I went over all by myself...when I called Michael and told him he thought I was messing around with him haha. But anyway, I got the shot which was actually a bit painful and then had the wonderful opportunity of laying in the hospital bed for about 1 1/2 hours. Right when they thought I would be able to go home, I had a bigger one that caused Olivia's heart rate to drop a bit so instead of going home I got to sit there for another 20 minutes to make sure she was okay. They finally let me go home, however I was told I had to come back the next day to get one more steroid shot and be monitored again. My doctor also has me taking pill called Nifedipine every 4-6 hours which is supposed to help my contractions slow down. This pill isn't exactly the greatest pill, it pretty much makes my face look like a cherry and my head feel like it's going to explode. But oh well! So yesterday, Michael and I headed back up to the hospital. Yes, he came with me this time which made me feel so much better. We both felt bad he wasn't there that first time. Anyway, I got that second shot and it wasn't as bad as the first time! And then I was monitored for only about a half hour. I only had one bigger contraction that whole time so they let me go home! I think the pills are working! Although, I haven't been put on complete bed rest (thank goodness), I pretty much have to stay sitting or laying down as much as possible. No vacuuming, cleaning, carrying things ect. Poor Michael. So the good news is that there is still a chance I could carry her full term. I guess we will just have to see. As much as we want to see our precious little girl we want her to be healthy and hope that we can keep her in there as long as possible.

Happy 21 to me!!

This picture doesn't really have anything to do with my 21st birthday, but I still thought it was cute so I thought I'd share. We were able to attend Michael's cousin's wedding at the Provo Temple on July 31, 2010. It was beautiful!

So...I thought that by turning 21 I would feel really old,
but all I've really felt is really really blessed.
I really don't think I could ask for a better life.
I have the BEST family in the whole world,
A future that holds so many new and exciting opportunities.
AND
the most amazing husband. I don't think I could have dreamed up a better man.

While Michael was at work...(yes I skipped out, I couldn't resist the opportunity to sleep in) I was able to walk around the Thanksgiving Point gardens with my grandma. While we were walking her flip flop broke haha so she pretty much wobbled the whole way back! I'm glad I got to spend some time with her laughing and talking. I really do have an amazing grandma.

Michael baked me a cake. I think it was his first one in case you already didn't notice:) But it tasted wonderful and I was still quite impressed with the look of it because my first cake was pretty much a pile of cake and frosting mixed together.

This is the cute watch I got for my birthday! I absolutely love it! You can actually take off the watch and switch it over to other bands. I ordered one more band but it hasn't come yet.
Michael was also kind enough to buy me New Moon. I can't really get over how generous he is. (We all know he just used my birthday as an excuse to buy it since he has wanted it for so long:))
He also bought me chocolate covered cinnamon bears and then gave me 21 dollars which will be spent on Olivia of course!
And last but not least...a camera! But I haven't picked it out yet. I can't decide what kind to get.

I have no picture but we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was my first time. No I didn't ride the saddle because I made Michael promise me that he would not tell anyone it was my birthday. In fact I was so serious about this not being shared, I was practically in tears begging him not to.

This was our drink in celebration of me becoming of age to legally drink. Of course sparkling cider is about as close as i'll get!

To finish off a perfect birthday, we laid a blanket in the back yard and played board games.
And then we cuddled. Which is probably my most favorite thing to do with him!

****Just a little extra story I thought would be important to remember. Again, it has nothing to do with my birthday. But it still made my day to know that even though I find my self saying dumb things more than once a day, even my boy has his moments!

We were driving home from work and it was obvious that it was about to rain. Well as we were driving down the freeway we started to hear little things hit our car. Well my boy, bless his heart went on to say, "why are we getting hit with so many rocks?" haha...and I of course replied..."love, it's hailing."

Hello third trimester!

I guess I don't know how excited I am to be at this stage physically. But I can't believe I am already here! In hopefully a short 10-12 weeks our little girl will be here, and this I am so excited about I can hardly handle it!

An Amazing July so far...

As you will see below, we have had an eventful few weeks...the Mickelson Farm, swimming, and my family's cabin in Montana! This is a long post but since it is my journal I can't help but include every detail!

An exciting find of mine was this bag of Razzles. Unless you have seen the movie 13 going 30 this probably means nothing. I just had to buy them...I guess I just thought I would be cool if I ate the same candy as they did. Well the sad part of this is that Razzles aren't that good. Oh well, at least I can say I have had them! That just goes to show that movies really do make everything look better.

Here we are at the Mickelson Reunion. It was so fun to see everybody and see all the cute farm animals! Apparently that cow licks people haha. Luckily it didn't lick me. And the lambs (or sheep) whatever they are have such puffy little coats. You kind of just want to squish them!

My boy and I have the luxury of living right next to a private pool. Let's just say we try to take advantage of it. Although I haven't been a huge fan of getting in the water, I enjoy working on my tan. Since for the most part it is just my boy and I hanging out he is left to swim by himself. I wish I could get a picture of this, but he won't let me. We'll just say that if you were to walk by the pool you would see me lying on a chair in the sun and then Michael just playing around in the pool all by himself. It's actually quite cute. The last time we went I realized it might be nice if he had a friend to swim with so I actually joined him.
One day, the twins and Harrison came over to swim while Michael was golfing. Because it was SO hot I couldn't resist getting in.

Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to go to Bear World. Each summer as we would drive past it on our way to the cabin I would beg my parents to stop. They wouldn't and would just say that it is just like the zoo and not worth the money. Obviously they had NO idea. Well now that I am 20 and have established my own family {Michael} I have a bit more freedoms. So when I explained this little story to my boy he said, " well I'll take you there!" So we stopped and let me just say it was a well spent 33 dollars. It was a drive through park so we couldn't get out of the car for obvious reasons. As we began our drive there were bison, an albino elk thing, deer, moose, regular colored elk, and turkeys running around everywhere. Even in the road sometimes. And then we got to this special gate and as we drove inside we started to see bears! They were everywhere! Some would just walk right in the middle of the road and next to car like we weren't even there. I absolutely loved this! Now the best part was after we drove through the entire park we got to go a little petting zoo. Right outside the petting zoo were 2 cages that had baby bears in them. Can I just say that baby bears are really the cutest little things ever?! Well besides elephants and baby Olivia. But they would just roll around wrestling together. I was so tempted just to jump in and grab one of them. One of the bears was a showoff and decided to climb one of the logs and then slide down it like it was a pole! It was adorable. I think I could have sat there watching those bears all day. But we moved on to the part of the zoo where we actually got to pet some of the animals. I am not a fan of touching them but it was still fun to see them all running around together. I thought the little Bambi deer was quite cute. And of course Michael loved the big moose. (He didn't get to pet him though). I am pretty sure I enjoyed Bear World just as much as a 5 year old would and I am so lucky to have my boy make all my dreams come true!

On Wednesday July 14th we arrived at the cabin! We spent 3 1/2 days there and it was wonderful!
Some of the fun things we did were:
-catch 40 bats by hand (Michael)
-jetski
-ATV rides
-walks
-tubing (Michael)
-ping pong (I did beat Michael 2 out of the 15 or so games we played!)
-Eat really good food (thanks to Uncle Tom)
-roasted smores
-went hunting, shot a squirrel (poor thing), and then roasted it (Michael and boys)
-went to breakfast in West Yellowstone
-watched movies with homemade icecream
-drank hot chocolate
-were attacked by swarms of mosquitos (Not me so much because my blood is bitter)
-relaxed and talked

It went by way too fast. I can't wait for next year!

6 months!

If only babies came this way....
ANYWAY....Only 3 more months until our baby girl will be here!!

I think the nesting has already started...I can't really handle how much there is to do!
I am so excited I can hardly wait.

The Bachelorette:

I LOVE the bachelorette.
Yes, I am one of those people that counts down the days and hours until Mondays at 7:00 pm.
I love the drama and the funny, crazy things the guys do. I mean who takes off running and literally hops over bushes with a broken foot from a girl you were supposed to like? And what the heck was up with the rose tattoo with a diamond symbolizing each of the guys on there? I just can't really handle it!
So we are down to 4 guys now...Chris, Roberto, Frank, and Kirk. I will admit that she has done a way better job than the previous Bachelor Jake.
Chris: I think he is a nice guy..probably just not for Ali. I mean sometimes he just seems a little too goofy in a non cute way.
Kirk: I still can't figure him out. I think him and Ali are pretty much just make-out buddies. Plus the whole dead animal room that his dad has pretty much says enough.
Frank: He was definitely a favorite until we found out that he would break Ali's heart. Frank's funny (kind of weird) personality just reminded me SO much of my own love's personality except for the part where he hurts Ali of course:)

Roberto: He's my favorite for Ali. He just seems perfect for her in every way. Actually he seems almost too perfect. I hope she picks him. Although I wonder if she will because it would make the show too predictable.
Oh well..at least I already found my sweetheart. And yes my sweetheart is into the bachelorette as well. He watches the entire 2 hours of with me and then listens to me analyze it that entire week. He even pipes in and shares his thoughts. I'll have to admit that we have had some pretty deep conversations regarding these boys and Ali:)
